With the introduction of Windows 8, Microsoft required hardware manufacturers to use Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) in place of the traditional BIOS. More about UEFI can be found at wikipedia:

Secure Boot can not only prevent the installation of other operating systems, such as Linux, but it also prevents the use of our audio extraction software. Consequentially, if you want to use the audio recording feature of Replay Media Catcher 5, Secure Boot needs to be disabled. Note: whether-or-not Secure Boot is enabled, the normal internet downloading functionality of RMC5 will not be affected.
Often you can determine if Secure Boot is enabled by opening System Information (msinfo32.exe) and viewing the System Summary.
